Dora Maar is an online platform that allows people to experience and shop a curated selection of pre-owned luxury fashion from the world's best closets.

As a copywriting intern, I was tasked with crafting clever and compelling rhetoric in the Dora Maar brand voice. My work focused on writing brief, engaging Instagram stories, and email copy for weekly launches, sale advertisements and Muse bios.

DoMa Canvas: Copen-Core

In addition to my writing copy, Dora Maar gave me the opportunity to write a blog post documenting my personal experience and style observations while abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark. In this post, I showcase my colloquial, playful tone of voice, as well as give a structured breakdown of Danish style. This article landed in the top 10% of articles uploaded to Shopify.

Muse Launch: Diamond Mahone

A critical part of Dora Maar’s creative mission is the creation of the Muse. Muses are notable fashion icons with a considerable social media following who style and create designer closets with Dora Maar. For each Muse, Dora Maar has a separate webpage, with their own closet picks and a brief bio to describe them.

To celebrate each Muse that joins the DoMa team, we promote their closet via Instagram, email, and website. As a copywriting intern, I am tasked with writing copy for each Muse launch.

One example is Diamond Mahone, a celebrity stylist who joined the DoMa team this summer. I conducted research on her fashion background and drafted a brief bio for the site (pictured above).

In anticipation of the closet launch, I crafted copy for the Dora Maar Instagram story, using information from her bio and a brief note about her style.

Another critical part of the launch is email copy. I wrote the subject and preview for the launch, using literary devices and captivating language to draw clientele.

DoMa Download

Dora Maar drafts and designs a weekly newsletter to send to clientele called DoMa Download. Each week the newsletter has a list of different modules such as “New In”, “Sale”, or “Curation”, and is made available via Instagram story and email. As an intern, I draft the modules for each email and story, including an intriguing title and concise, creative copy.

I wrote headlines and text for each module, using captivating, yet compact language to effectively communicate the brand’s message, while remaining eloquent and brief.
